The Clare 1995-1997 senior hurling panel are hosting fundraising poker night which takes place in the Woodstock Hotel commencing at 6pm, Easter Sunday. At this years All Ireland hurling final the 1997 senior hurling winners Clare will be honoured. In 2020 the same was due to occur but was cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Clare GAA and Clare GAA sponsor Pat O Donnell are supporting a weekend away for the 1995-97 squad. The squad themselves have arranged a fundraising initiative to help defray costs and kit out the squad for Croke Park. To this end, one event that is planned is a poker classic night in the Woodstock Hotel.

Organiser Eamonn Taaffe who will always be remembered for the famous goal that secured our second All Ireland title has thanked everyone who has supported the event by purchasing tickets at 25 euro each. "We would like to welcome everyone to the Poker night on Sunday evening. It is an opportunity for Clare GAA supporters of all codes to gather and remember the wins of 1995 and 1997" Taaffe goes on to state .The Tubber native concludes by thanking " Michael Talty, Rachel Naughton and Pat Keane who have worked hard to get support for the event and  finally Sean and Elaine Lally and the staff in the Woodstock hotel for their wonderful help and that every euro raised will be going directly to the 1995-97 squad silver anniversarycelebration".
